Looking through tinted glasses

We see what we like to see.
We hear what we like to hear.
We associate ourselves with people we feel good with.
Because we’re humans. Therefore we’re humans.

I can see it, you can see it, we all can see it.
Everyone is viewing and judging the world with tinted glasses.
Like it or not, this is the truth.
Why? Because it is too hard to accept reality.

The reality of people other than those you prefer,
living a life that makes you feel bitter.
Ego denies that it’s you who is a failure,
And by pointing fingers you make yourself feel better.
In the expense of the options of other people,
Who found themselves hands tied due to a cheater.

Looking at the world through rosy tinted glasses,
Ignoring the shadow behind the platform you stand on.
Denying the light to those who equally deserved it,
Denying the chance for them to live an equal life of their own.
We call ourselves modern, but this is truly barbarian,
We call ourselves open, but is this our true intention?

take off the glasses
Give yourself a chance to enlighten yourself,
take off all your tinted glasses of prejudice.
See the world in a whole new spectrum,
Indulge in the colourful world as it was meant to be.
