Question is, what’s a meaningful life?
For 11 years, under the government’s direction, going through primary and secondary education -- either 7a.m. to 1p.m., or 1p.m. to 7p.m. of schooling. Homework, projects, loads of exams and studying… What’s so meaningful about it?
As for now, wasting it out in some camp while waiting for the supposed training to end and to get into college. With all the supposedly character correcting classes and sadistic coaches, you get the idea that the gov somehow thinks you are totally twisted even after 11 years of education and exposure to the world, and have you isolated as they rebuild your persona and have you reborn as a perfect citizen in their eyes. In short, what a waste of time, while peers alike has gone to college, And I’m still forced into hiding from the world, and what kind of meaningful life is this?
Fast forward to the future. Not trying to be pessimistic, but I can’t help but just seeing that me, you and friends graduating in the future – is just no more than signifying another completed product of the thriving tertiary education industry. You pay big money to them, go to their course for 4 years, get a cert and you’re ready for work. It’s just as simple and gloomy as that. So what life is meaningful?
A meaningful life, it all comes down to just a simple thing – memories, of the good times spent with family and friends. Usual dinnertime and teh tarik times, going out with family, or just simple chatting, nagging and even quarrelling; fond memories of happy and even crazy things you will only do at school with your friends, as we turn from complete strangers into best of buddies. And most of all, memories of every moment spent pursuing the one that captivates my heart~
